Trouble With AppleCar???

Via 9 to 5 Mac – Inside Apple Car: Jony Ive’s design, Federighi’s skepticism, the ‘jogger incident,’ more

Ok, let me preface this by saying I NEVER believe these types of sensational BS that is pretty much a regular occurence in the Apple media.  Usually its a disgruntled ex-employee or just plain FUD. I feel this is a little bit of both mixed in with a hefty amount of speculation. So in other words its ninety percent made up. Apple is usually locked down except on the occasional supply chain break down associated with the iPhone(ok its every year, I get it. But Im not sure if that’s not a little planned and the iPhone is still a big deal).  My main issue is the part where Tim Cook is mostly hands off and “rarely visits” the off site Project Titan team. REALLY? A multi-billion dollar project that has been rumored for years and he is just letting them spend all that money without showing is face.  I think its fare to say that Tim is not that kind of CEO.  Plus I think the project is in the very capable hands of Kevin Lynch(also rumor), who got the Apple Watch out the door. John Giannandrea SVP of Machine Learning and AI Strategy was rumored to be running the show and I think he still is with Kevin Lynch reporting to him in some capacity.

When Jony Ive left apple to create his own design house called Love From with Apple becoming one of his main clients, the speculation was Jony was out and that was that. I never believed that. I tend to take Apple at face value(they are not prone to lying) especially when they said that very statement word for word. Jony is a resource and will always be for Apple. Anything other than that is pure nonsense.  I have always believed Jony was and is designing the car.

Message Pad 120 in Apple TV+ For All Mankind

The Apple Newton Message Pad 120 appears in season 3 episode 2 of For All Mankind. I paused it and was pleasantly surprised to see it being used for a video call, the FaceTime of the 90’s.

Just a little Apple history nostalgia the Newton Message pad was released in Germany in October 1994 and then in the United States in January of 1995.

Using the 35W Dual USB-C Power Adapter

Apple released a support document explaining the ways to charge a single device and two devices.

“Charge two devices

To charge two devices, connect your devices to either port on your power adapter. When you connect two devices, power is automatically distributed between them based on their power requirements. For most devices, power is shared evenly when you have two devices charging at the same time. For example:

If you connect a Mac notebook and an iPhone or iPad, each device receives up to 17.5W.

If you connect an iPhone and an iPad, each device receives up to 17.5W.

If you connect a Mac notebook or iPhone and an Apple Watch or AirPods, the Mac notebook or iPhone receives up to 27.5W and the Apple Watch or AirPods receive up to 7.5W.

If either device needs more power, unplug the other device and its charging cable from your power adapter.”

Apple & MLS announce deal

Apple and Major League Soccer announce exclusive partnership to air all matches for 10 years starting in 2023.  This sounds great, I think this is an entirely new format where apple is streaming all matches without the need for any type of local TV add on. Seems like no blackout restrictions.  I love soccer but don’t really follow the MLS. Its a start but I would love Serie A, Premiership, La Liga or Bundesliga. Throw in the Euro and World Cup and now we are talking.

Via Apple Newsroom

“For the first time in the history of sports, fans will be able to access everything from a major professional sports league in one place,” said Eddy Cue, Apple’s senior vice president of Services. “It’s a dream come true for MLS fans, soccer fans, and anyone who loves sports. No fragmentation, no frustration — just the flexibility to sign up for one convenient service that gives you everything MLS, anywhere and anytime you want to watch. We can’t wait to make it easy for even more people to fall in love with MLS and root for their favorite club.”

Mazda Rhodium White Premium

As a connosieur of all things white and especially white paint.  I love what Mazda is doing to the coming soon CX-90 crossover that is making its way to the U.S. later this year. With Mazda’s hardcore push to become a premium auto brand they are using a three part paint process that makes the new Rhodium White Premium simple and refined, which is what one would expect from “a pure white inspired by Japanese aesthetics finding beauty in simplicity and the absence of superfluous elements.”

Via Mazda Newsroom

“Developing Rhodium White Premium, we were able to take Takuminuri to new heights, successfully mass producing an expressive color using only three layers: a clear layer, a reflective layer and a color layer. The color layer provides a newly developed white pigment that delivers a silky smooth, fine-grain white. As standard practice with white colored paints, the undercoat tends to show through, and the clear coat is generally thicker than for other colors. However, Rhodium White Premium uses a newly developed pigment thanks to which we were able to reduce the thickness of the color layer by up to 30%*3. This also contributes to more efficient use of resources and a reduction of CO2 emissions during the production process.”
